CAPA President appointed as PIOB member and Trustee of the PIOB Foundation

CAPA President Dr. Chen Yugui, was appointed as a member of the Public Interest Oversight Board (PIOB) as well as to the board of trustee of the PIOB Foundation in May.

The PIOB is the global independent oversight body responsible for overseeing the standard-setting processes of two standard-setting boards (SSBs). It is accountable to the international regulatory committee as represented by the Monitoring Group. The two SSBs, namely the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) and International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants® (IESBA®), are responsible for setting international high–quality standards for audit and assurance and professional ethics.

The PIOB’s purpose is to enhance confidence in global financial markets by ensuring a public interest focus in the setting of international audit, assurance and ethics standards, for the accountancy and audit profession. More information on the PIOB can be found on their website.

Dr. Chen who was nominated by the International Organization of Securities Commission (IOSCO) enthused, “I am delighted to be nominated and appointed to serve on this very important platform to support the global public interest.”
